Groove Doctors Dance Party Band Blog:
Hal Miller – Keyboardist

This September will mark the 8 year anniversary for Hal Miller  being the keyboardist for  the  GROOVE Doctors,  a dance party band located in the  San Francisco Bay Area. On Hal’s  bio page  on the  GROOVE Doctors  web site you will see much information about Hal’s career in music, but the bio page won’t tell you how much audiences enjoy listening to Hal play his keyboards.

Besides playing keys, the incredibly versatile Hal is also the male vocalist in the Doctors as well as our rhythm guitarist, and on some songs he’s been known to play a mean cowbell because as Christopher Walken said to Will Ferrel on Saturday Night Live, “I got a fever, and the only prescription is more cowbell”.

Some of my favorite songs Hal sings are Your Mamma Don’t Dance by Loggins & Messina  ,  Soul Man  by  Sam & Dave/The Blues Brothers and  Old Time Rock n’ Roll  by  Bob Seger. Some of my favorites that Hal plays keys are I Heard It Through the Grapevine  by  Gladys Knight,  Play That Funky Music by  Wild Cherry and  Conga by  Gloria Estefan.

If you want to hear Hal play his keys (and sing and play guitar) come on out to a public  GROOVE Doctors  show, our  Schedule Page  has a full list of our performances plus  maps to the venues. Or you can hear Hal by  calling Dr. Dave at (925) 487-3572 to hire the GROOVE Doctors  to play a private event.
